Cheap Car Hire in Maui

Desk agent at pickup spent far too long pressuring for the loss damage waiver - no means no, move on.

Check in took a long time but otherwise evyeas perfect.

The estimate given was 375, we got there and they told us the price was 1000

Not aware of office hours before booking! They closed at 430, we landed at 530. couldn't get car until next day, I told office ahead of time that we wouldn't be there until next morning and when we arrived they said they canceled our car because no show. Very displeased, poor customer service. Had to zoom call and dealt with someone in CA. Workers in actual office were very nice and helpful, but not the "manager" in CA. Never again will I use them.

Excellent customer service-Really helpful and friendly. I arrived early but check in staff worked with me to get me a vehicle right then. I appreciated that very much! Th woman at the counter was great! Drop off was so easy and the employee I dealt with there was a 10/10! Shuttle to airport was ready and waiting and the shuttle driver was also a 10/10! This is the second time I’ve used Ace and I am now sure I will be a regular customer when I travel to Maui.

This is a friendly branch of ACE in Maui that is a ways away from the airport, so it requires a shuttle. That was pleasant and nice, but the check-in process was laborious, because they connected us to a guy in a call center in San Diego over Zoom. This was absurd— he was painfully unprepared to handle a non-US license and international paperwork. Plus for some reason he wasn’t able to send me the one time password needed to activate everything. No joke this whole process took 45 minutes and wasted our first hour in Maui. And meanwhile the other staff onsite were all lounging around playing with their smart phones. It was absurd.

We had easy pickup and drop-off. We upgraded to a convertible since there was a discount and I wanted to use one for our trip, but as soon as we agreed to the vehicle I feel like the representative stopped listening and didn’t answer a number of questions my husband and I had. She was like, “It’s fine, just get in, just get in!” Everything worked out in the end but it made the initial experience more stressful than necessary. If upgrades and deals are offered for very different names/models/sizes at the counter, some time should be allotted for customers to feel comfortable with their decision.

Just if someone had explained that the credit card would be charged for holds for 5 to 7 days afterwards, that would’ve been nice.
